History of Bustleholme Football Club

Bustleholme Football Club was founded in 1975 by Richard (Dick) Shiner, Ray Coley and Dave Martin that were a group of parents looking to form a team to give their lads a game of football.
Schools unfortunately did not take things to seriously and the parents were looking to get involved on a more organized basis, little then did they know what they had started. From those days the Club has grown from one under 12s team to 16 teams from mini-soccer to adult teams peaking at 21 boys team and 4 girls teams sadly to be induced from the Club a few years later.
When Dick, Ray and Dave started they had a little help from Ronnie Allen (West Bromwich Albion Legend) in coaching the kids.
When Dave told Ronnie the following season that we were thinking of running 3 teams he advised me not to due to the problems that would come with it.
One of the proudest moments in the Clubs history was the inauguration of our Mini-Soccer in 2004 to include boys and girls from as young as 5 to play in a safe and controlled environment, there has not been a season since that we have not had a team formed from them.
Another landmark was to start an Adult team in 1993 playing in the Sandwell Sunday League (2 Years) then join the South Staffs League (Saturdays for 2 Years) then joining the West Midlands (Regional) League to the present day winning its first trophy the League Cup in 2009/10 season.
We have just recently celebrated our 40th year and look forward with anticipation of what we can achieve in the next 40 years.

Welcome to the family

We are proud of our Club and all involved in it, we are run purely by volunteers who give up valuable time and who are truly dedicated to ensure Bustleholme remain a friendly, family run Club with a history to be proud of and we welcome you to join or team.
We pride ourselves on sportsmanship, opportunities for all, fairness and lots of fun! Our development plan is to maintain our Community Charter Standard which is an FA scheme that we get assessed against. We are currently the only ‘Community (the highest standards) club locally, we promote football development and build on our provisions for football at all levels. We have some highly qualified coaches (highest being a coach with a UEFA B license) with an abundance of experience and knowledge in the field. All our teams have at minimum of one person trained to Level One Coaching award or above as well as Fist Aid and Safeguarding.
We trust you will find our Club a positive environment to be around run by friendly and helpful people many of which legend has it that ‘if you were to break them in half they would have Bustleholme printed through them like a stick of rock’.
We appreciate your time is precious and by donating it to enable the children to play football is inspirational and honorable. We hope you get many seasons of fun back from it. Good Luck.
